SUNDAY, Dec. 14, 10:15 AM - Third Sunday of Advent Service of JOY.  Boy Scout NATAN VONIC will present the PEACE LIGHT from Bethlehem! ~ Guest pianist, Maggie Smith.  ~ Original song debut by Nils von Keudell on guitar and singing "Fall Into His Arms. "  ~ This is also the Last Day to Sign-up for your One-Year Bible: choice of illustrated –or- Large Print  $14 – make checks out to Zion UMC re:bible.  Bibles arrive 12/28.   ~ SCRIP orders accepted today – see Leola Widmayer at 847-683-2585 ~  Poinsettia orders  due today @ $8 each ~ Deanne Tamms

WEDNESDAY, Dec. 17, 7 PM – Sing & Study meets @ Church  – 1 Corinthians 7 – to marry or not?  Challenging discussions - safe, open atmosphere.  Come and grow with us!

Dec. 18 -20, THURSDAY – SATURDAY, 9 AM - ? Scrapbooking Fellowship meets downstairs.

Friday, Dec. 19, 1 PM - United Methodist Women meet downstairs to assemble Christmas cookie platters to be distributed to shut-ins.

SATURDAY, Dec. 20, 9 AM – Pie Day! @ church kitchen! Bring a fresh pie +/or deliver a slice and visit  awhile! Call Marie Maynard for details  847-683-2976

SUNDAY, Dec. 21,  10:15 AM Worship   Lighting the 4th Advent Canlde for Love. COME AND PREPARE YOUR HEARTS to celebrate the Birthday of the Promised One: Jesus Christ, Savior of the whole world, God With Us, Emmanuel.

If you have not already done so, please bring your own or a family  personalized ornament to add to our Church Family Christmas Tree!

 Wednesday, Dec. 24, 7 PM - CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLE LIGHT SERVICE for the whole family.  A beautiful, traditional service featuring Nils von Kudell on guitar and singing Silent Night in German.  Come one, come All!  Merry Christmas!

Sunday, Dec. 18, NO SUNDAY SCHOOL ~ 10:15 AM - Service of Carols led by Keith Koppen whose sermon topic is "Music to Sing By; Words to Live By."  It's the 4th Day of Christmas!

January 1, 2015 HAPPY NEW YEAR!  It's our 170th Anniversary Year! Praise the Lord! TIME TO START READING YOUR ONE-YEAR BIBLE!

Sunday, January 4,  9 AM - SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES RESUME. ~ 10:15 AM EPIPHANY SUNDAY  with HOLY COMMUNION: The Lord's Table is open to ALL.  Baptism of William Philip Wuestenfeld. Your help will be needed in "Taking Down the Greens" following Worship, and Pot Luck Luncheon. Another beautiful day at Zion UMC!

 Please pray for our men and women serving in combat areas:  ~ Marine PFC Dustyn Harris, Ukraine. Please inform us of the names of others who are serving in war-torn areas.
